Sandro Gianella is the Head of Europe & Middle East Policy & Partnerships at OpenAI. He joined OpenAI in mid‑2023, coming from Stripe where he established their EMEA public policy function, and previously held policy roles at Google and in G7/G20 analysis through the Heinrich Böll Foundation and G20 Research Group. Educated at the University of Toronto (BA in International Relations) and the Hertie School of Governance (Master’s in Public Policy), Gianella is also part of the Atomico Expert Network and a limited partner at Common Magic, advising European scale‑ups on regulatory strategy.
